The Craft

Straight-fit light blue cotton denim with thorn-inspired embroidery hand-placed along the length of the leg. The embroidery elements are applied in a climbing pattern that follows the seam line upward. Each element individually stitched.

"Cucuk is the Turkish word for to pierce. I chose it because this embroidery does exactly that. It takes a fabric everyone has owned in some form and adds one element that makes it impossible to leave on the hanger. The thorn climbing the leg, upward, the way thorns actually grow."
